Am a student in the United States writing a paper about how citizens in Finland feel about Turkey joining the EU. If you live in Finland or are a native of Finland, could you give me your take on this matter. Thanks

Most of us feel quite negative about it. Not because it's a muslim country but because it doesn't fulfill he expectations of a EU country. Turkey doesn't respect the rights of their minorities either. Besides, it doesn't belong to Europe!

If Turkey doesnt belong to Europe then Finland sure as hell doesnt.

Finns don't feel that Turkey is secular enough imo. Nor do they think that minority rights are protected well enough. People usually say that let's give them time rather than allowing them now into the EU.
