First, Be honest first to yourself and then to all others. Jobs are so hard to come by, but the answer is this. Stop looking for a job when you will always be working for someone else. and create your own business. HERE'S what I did. I bought a Bucket, A Sponge, and three ladders. and 3 Squeege's two dozen Cotton Baby diapers. A wooden handle about 5 foot long and an Extention handle. Then went to a hardware store and bought a small tub of TSP (Tri-Sodium Phosphate- cleaning powder) and got three-1 Gallon Milk containers. I walked around my home town at the age of 14, and asked all the store owners If they would like to have their Windows cleaned. and offered them to clean one Window for free to show them that I was the best Window cleaner in the world. (The secret to cleaning windows and assure that you are the best it the cleaning compoud (TSP) Secret, Only put 1/2 teaspoon of the TSP in one gallon of water. and Name your business " Quality Window Cleaning Service" I have done this mostly all my life I am 73 years old and still the BEST although I have slowed down somewhat, I have cleaned on a part time basis. and always made more money than I would have working for someone else. and Once I cleaned a Company's Windows and was hired as a supervisor and worked for them for 25 years and promoted to manager after 18 years. then retired and moved to another state and continued to run a business and did well. There are techniques you will learn by trial and error as you progress, but apply yourself and you will learn. As for what you should charge Well I can only say , Practice on your home windows, and see how many windos you can clean in an hour. then set your price on how much you want to make (an hour !! BUT work by the JOB only and not by a price per window But The total shall always work out to be the same cost factor and always think of your COSTS for time and material and replacement equipment when calculating your overhead and taxes ect. Note: You will only be as good as your windows are clean, or you will not succeed Stay in School and learn to profit from others mistakes, and not your own , and always help others and be considerate of everyone, mostly be "Humble" and not overbearing. YOU SEE, You do not need to speak the language to show them you are the best and If you were even Blind You could clean windows perfect anfter learning how to do them There is alway a need for Windows to be cleaned .
