Just curious cause I live in Finland and all the colleges and schools in here are completely free.

Lucky you, I gotta pay :/ But it's little bit, like you gotta make a deposit before you even go to the school, then you can pay off each year as a loan or just pay a bit every month.

In the U.S. it depends on the college. Most of the time you pay all at once or in a few big payments fairly close to the first day of school. There are some schools that allow you to pay over the entire semester and it just needs to be paid off before finals start (and of course interest is charged the whole time).
