should i live in Miami or Finland?

should i live in Miami or Finland?
Hi! I live in Miami now from 16 years and i married a guy from Finland, I'm in the process of bringing him to live here with me but i am not sure if thats the best. The main reason i want him here is because i would be close to my family and the reason why i'm thinking about living in Finland is, i study and don't have a job right now and the economy is pretty bad, my husband has a good job. Finland is soooooo cold and miami is SO warm! anyhow i don't know what to do...?

On a quality of life index according to United Nations Finland is one of the top three, right up there with Iceland, Norway, Denmark and Sweden. USA is no 32 on the same list. Finland is a fabulous country with nice warm sunny summers and long and dark and cold winters - outside. Life in Finland is good at any time. People are friendly, there is practically no crime, the standard of living is among the highest in the world. Public transportation is totally amazing and you have so many interesting places to go to, cheaply, if you want to explore Europe or the surrounding countries. I vote for Finland. (I live in Canada - another country with a high quality of life index, so different from USA)

I live in South Florida but worked in Helsinki. Here are my thoughts. Finland postives: 1. almost eveyrone speaks English 2. The place is beautiful if you like snowscapes, modern architecture, and culture. It really is. 3. The people are extremely reserved but open to making friends with foreigners. Don't expect to speak to strangers often unless you are very formal. 4. You can fly to other places in Europe like London to visit. 5. The food is not bad, even good for fish natural foods. --- Downsides The winter is dark and dreary. From November 14 - February 7 there is little sunlight. In fact, around Christmastime, there is about three hours worth of weak sun at the most. The place is incredibly cold in the winter too if you are from Florida. The weather November - March: Lots of snow. April and May -- it can rain and be muddy. June, July, and August are glorious. Sunny and warm, very nice. September and October --It gets cold and dark fast. It can rain, and even snow at any time. Just be prepared.

The big question is are you able to speak Finnish? If not, you're going to feel pretty isolated even though most people in Finland can speak some English. If it were me, I'd stay in Miami... as you mentioned, the weather is a lot nicer there.
